There are 4 packages, from 9 to 14 days, priced from $4,235 per person for two people sharing. Every one includes the flight from Arusha to Zanzibar and all park and crater fees.

How much does a Tanzania safari and Zanzibar package cost?

A Tanzania safari and Zanzibar package with Tazan Tours costs $4,235 to $7,922 per person for two people sharing, depending on the length of the trip and the season. The price covers the private safari vehicle and driver-guide, every park, conservation and Ngorongoro Crater fee, all your lodges and beach nights, the flight to Zanzibar, Zanzibar airport transfers and Zanzibar’s infrastructure tax.

The price per person drops when more of you travel, because the vehicle, guide and crater fee are shared. On the 9-Day Safari & Zanzibar Escape for Two, two people pay $4,235 each in mid season, and four people pay $3,538 each. High season (Jun 1 – Oct 31 and Dec 20 – Jan 5) costs more because lodges charge their peak rates.

How many days do you need for a safari and Zanzibar?

Our shortest safari and Zanzibar package is 9 days: 5 nights on the mainland, including two in the Serengeti, then 3 nights on the beach. The three honeymoon packages add two nights in a private plunge-pool villa at Lake Manyara. The 12- and 14-day versions also add a third night in the Serengeti and a fourth or fifth night on the beach, and the 14-day adds a night in Tarangire. If you only have a week, the 6-Day Serengeti Escape for Two is the same safari without the beach.

How do you get from the Serengeti to Zanzibar?

On every package the safari ends at the Ngorongoro Crater, with a night in the hills of Karatu. The next morning you drive to Arusha airport for a short scheduled flight to Zanzibar, which is included in the price, and a driver meets you in Zanzibar for the transfer to Z Hotel in Nungwi. For your international flights, book an open-jaw ticket: into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and home from Zanzibar’s Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ).

When is the best time for a safari and Zanzibar trip?

Our safari and Zanzibar packages run from June to March. June to October is the dry season, when game viewing is easiest and lodges charge their highest rates. From November to March is the green season, with lower prices outside the Christmas and New Year weeks, and January to February is the calving season, when the wildebeest give birth on the southern Serengeti plains around Ndutu. Tell us if seeing the calving matters to you, so we can plan your Serengeti nights around it. April and May are the long rains, and the beach hotel on these packages is closed.
